Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Finals, and Christmas Time!

This is the turkey I made for the first time! So yummy, and not as hard as I thought it would be!! I also tried this recipe that was for Crockpot Mashed Potatoes, but it was no good. It said just to put the potatoes on high for 2-3 hours and then mash them. They were very gluey, and didn't taste as great as I had hoped!
It was just Danny and I for Thanksgiving, and we were planning to go Black Friday shopping. We were going to go to Walmart, but thankfully I was able to get that deal online! A thanksgiving miracle (;
We went at 1 am to the Base Exchange. Danny was hoping for a 70 inch TV, but they only had 2! So he settled for a 50 inch, which I think is plenty big!
It was much calmer than any other big retailer, or so I thought until I made it over to the purses.. Women are crazy!

This past week was Finals week, and it wasn't as bad as I thought! I was prepared enough for my tests that I didn't worry too much, and one was open book, so that helped! (;
I was supposed to take my Intro to Computer Systems test on Friday, but when I arrived at the testing center they told me the teacher had closed the test! I was freaking out, and my teacher had already left campus so all I could do was email him and go home and freak out some more. The next day he emailed me back, and told me he would open the test for an hour on Monday morning for me to take. He told me he knew how hard I had worked in this class (It was not an easy class!), and he didn't want a misunderstanding to affect my grade. I'm definitely thankful for good teachers!

Danny and I are going home for Christmas, so he didn't want to get a tree. I did, so I scored one for free on the yard sale site! It's only 3 feet tall, but I love it!
I bought the ornaments at the dollar store, and the picture is actually a t-shirt box, so this tree only cost me $3!
The countdown sign is my favorite decoration! I got it at 2 Shabby Divas on Main St. here in Clovis! I recommend visiting them, they have very cute clothes, fun jewelry, and cute, vintage furniture! My favorite part was the dressing rooms. One of them had vintage pattern pieces pasted on the wall. It was adorable!
They also have yummy smelling candles and wax melts, and they're cheaper than Scentsy or Bath and Body Works, and they smell amazing! (:

Aliens and Asian Food

Danny and I took a little day trip to visit our alien friends today!
Only awkward smiles allowed!!
The museum is pretty cool, but short. A lot of drawing and newspaper articles. We got to make an alien penny, so that was pretty cool!

We went to the mall and little shops around Roswell, they are pretty cool! We even got to go to an indoor farmers market!

Danny was craving Pho, but apparently Roswell only has one Asian restaurant, and it was closed. Poor boy...

We went to Zen Asian Diner instead. It was very good!
He doesn't wait for me to take pictures... ever!
I had Terriyaki Beef, and Danny had Beef and Broccoli. Yum!
Can't forget!

I made this yummy french bread this week!

Beauty Influenster Picks!

My influenster box came with 3 beauty goodies: Softlips, Sinful Colors, and some Kiss Eyelashes. I haven't had a chance to try out the eyelashes. I'm saving those for something fun! Here are my reviews on the other goodies for the time being!
First,
Sinful Colors in 1530 No Text Red
This photo was taken less than 24 hours after I painted them. The bottoms had already begun to chip off, sadly! It is a very bright color. The photo makes it look darker than it actually is, this color is a BRIGHT RED! I love the color, just wish it wouldn't chip as fast!

Softlips Cube in Vanilla Bean

This thing is pretty cool! It's like an EOS chapstick. The only issues I had was the flavor is a little odd. It's not exactly vanilla! The lid does slip off if you toss it in your purse with a jumbled mess (like mine is!), but it's fine if in a makeup bag or pocket. It goes on smoothly, and gives proper hydration. It also has a methanol feel, like Burts Bees! I couldn't decide if I like or hate it, it's really a middle product! Although, from reading the reviews on Influenster it sounds like the Blueberry Pomegranate flavor is better!

I recieved the Dean's List VoxBox from Influenster! I got some super fun items to review!

The first item I decided to review: Airhead Bites
I should have started with another item. I was pretty disappointed! Here's my influenster review!

Seriously, if you like eating rocks, here's some flavored ones!

Pinterest Fail!

Danny and I usually eat the same things for dinner. Tonight, I decided to change up the chicken recipe.. and it sucked.
I went to Pinterest and found a recipe that sounded sooo good! Parmesan Crusted Chicken. I love Parmesan!
Here are the ingredients:
1/4 C. Bread crumbs (I made my own, maybe that's the problem?)
1/2 C. Fresh Parmesan Cheese
2 T. Paprika
1/2 T. Onion Powder
Salt
Pepper
1/4 C. Flour

I doubled the spices, because I like spices!

You dip it in egg, then in the mixture, and then put on the pan like so:
I even set up the pan like they said, it was supposed to crisp all the sides...

I made yummy potato slices to go along. These potatoes were the first thing I ever cooked for Danny! They are tested and true!

I have no recipe for these, I just slice russet potatoes with a mandolin, and sprinkle parmesan cheese and seasoned salt! The brand of seasoned salt does matter, I've learned. Cheap is not better! Cook until they're brownish, but not burned. They cook up way better if you soak them in cold water for an hour or so, but who has time for that?

Here was the end result.....
Yummy potatoes and... tasteless chicken!
The chicken looked good, but there was no taste to it at all! No onion, no paprika, no salt, or pepper. Maybe the spices need to be tripled? It was just bland, not good at all!

Danny ate it all because he's a good little husband! A good little lying husband who said "Mmm, this is good!" until I said "This tastes like nothing.". He agreed (;

My trip back home to Utah!

My brother Ben got married on September 6th, so I got to go home to visit! It was so much fun! I miss Utah and all my family.
My sister Alicia, her husband Brandon, and their two kids picked me up from the airport. Somehow in six months Cayden grew a foot! My nephews were all so tall, I don't know how that happened!
I'm still laughing at the funny things Jake says. He was showing me his pokemon cards, and I told him he was a pokemon master, he said "No, I'm just completing my journey!" haha! Where do they come up with these things?
I took Danny's little brother to Jungle Jims! He wanted me to take him home to Danny, poor kid!

Daniel on his quest to find piza!

I tried out my design skills to make these water bottles for Katie's Bridal Shower. I gave Daniel a bottle and said "This is made out of Ben and Katie!" and he got so excited and said "Oh wow!!".

This picture is one in a thousand. He usually says "No cheese!". He was making his mom some cupcakes. He picked out the cake mix and frosting, and then ate most of the frosting (;

I took Kyler and Daniel on the rides at Liberty Park. Ky wouldn't ride with us ;(

"Can you halp me?" my favorite line from him!

My mom, dad, and I took Lexi and Caleb out for ice cream for Caleb's birthday. Such funny kids!

Daniel waiting for his pizza!

We had a girls night and made these! I love crafts like these, so fun!

Did some more designing and made this tag for the luncheon silverwear!

This is the mug I made for Alicia's birthday. Harry Potter fans will understand!

How cute! Cayden and Jake while waiting for the wedding! They were so excited for Ben and Katie!

Chubby cheeks and bow ties! So cute!

I told him no games unless he smiled for a picture!

Ben and Katie!

This was an impossible photo!

I made the cupcakes for their reception. They turned out so cute!

Ahaha! She asked me to take this picture! No kisses from Jake!

Siblings!

All us sisters and my mom!

I made a lot of cupcakes back home, and Daniel appreciated them!!
Oh my Jake! I missed this kid!

Zupas with Kim, Minerva, Daniel, and Ky! Zupas is amazing! I wanted ten bowls of the cauliflower soup! Screw Target, I want Clovis to get a Zupas!!

My families insane cat. She/He is very attracted to moving objects, you can't even run your finger through your hair without it attacking! It went missing halfway through my trip, but I'm sure the neighbors are taking good care of it (;

I love birthdays!

I think birthdays are so fun! A whole day to celebrate yourself, what more could I want?! Last year Danny was in tech, so we were not able to do anything fun for his day, so this year I planned a lot more!
Not a C-130 (;

Bowling!
Danny had to work on his birthday, so we went out Saturday! We were headed to Lubbock when Danny's friend called him to ask him if we wanted to go to Lubbock.. Only in Clovis! (;
Before we met up with them we headed to Express, Dannys favorite store! He always looks at their nice suit jackets, but never buys one because $400 for just a suit jacket is a little much! This time I had a coupon for $80 off $200, and luckily there were some jackets on sale! Needless to say, he finally appreciates my couponing!
We met up with friends and went to Texas Roadhouse! So yummy! At the end of our meal they started clapping, and Danny was looking around for what table they were going to sing at, but little did he know they were coming straight for him! I had gone to the "bathroom" to tell our waitress it was his birthday. It was so funny watching him on the saddle!
After dinner we went to see the movie The Maze Runner. It was so good! I don't know what genre that's considered, but I love those adventure/over throw the government movies!
Our last stop was Main Event! We've been wanting to go for so long! Main Event has bowling, arcade games, lazer tag, and billards, It was almost 2 am at this point, so we just went bowling. I am no good at bowling. I only hit the pins a total of 4 rounds! My score was twenty something, while everyone else was in the hundreds. So depressing!
Today, Danny's actual birthday, we slept. A lot! He didn't wake up until 1 pm, lucky kid! I made him pancakes, eggs, and hashbrowns for his birthday breakfast! He even got to eat off the birthday plate!

Back home on our birthdays my mom has always put photos of us growing up on the laundry room door, so I continued that tradition. Too bad I don't have any embarrassing photos of Danny, only the cute baby ones!

Danny wanted Angel Food Cake, and I attempted it from scratch! It turned out perfect! Except for some burned spots. I hate my oven!
I gave Danny car cleaning supplies for his gift! The yellow sponge is a bug cleaning sponge, since driving here is like driving through a sea of bugs!
My cute birthday boy (:
