Valentine's Day Fun!

I think Valentines Day is such a fun holiday! Everything is pink which makes it even better! (;

I used a fun Pinterest tutorial on making shapes using washi tape. I LOVE washi tape! I had a heart on the card and then made a smaller one to seal the card. So easy!

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate buying a fun printed table cloth from walmart or the dollar store only to find out the middle is plain white? Pinterest had so many fun wine bottle covers for Valentines. Works the same on sparkling cider! 😋

A fun entry into the kitchen to surprise Danny when he came home from work! Pinterest and a printer are the best combination!

What a cutie ❤️

Pinterest Faves!

Pins I tried (that worked!):
Quick and Easy Breadsticks
These were so yummy! I cut the recipe in half, and we had leftovers that lasted one day... They were really good!
You Are My Sunshine Printable
I found this cute, free printable! It's framed in my living room now. I couldn't get the original blog to work, but I have the full size print saved if you want it!
Free Printable Calendar!
I used this calendar to plan out all my school assignments. So cute!
Easy Garlic Chicken
Danny loved this, I thought it was okay.. so it kind of worked!
Soft Pretzel Bites
These were so good! I think the boiling is the secret to good, homemade pretzels!

Pins still in the works:

Three Cheese Ranch Chicken

Brown Sugar Frosting
This makes me want to bake a cake!
How cute are these nails?!If I ever get around to getting a manicure, I want these!!

$5 Yoga Bag (or Cinco de Matto as my mom suggests!)

I started classes this week, one of which is a yoga class! I love it!
I purchased this yoga mat from amazon:
It works great, and it is so cute! But I wanted a strap or a bag to carry it. Amazon had a lot of options, which were either ugly and cheap, or too expensive ($60!) and cute. I pinterested (is that word?) some patterns, but I disliked them all. So I decided to make my own pattern! Which could possibly make no sense to anyone except me.
I measured my mat, which is 3 mm. It was 68 in. x 24 in. and rolled measured about 4 in. across.
Supplies:

1 yard (or less, of fabric. I had about 1/4 yd. unused)
Ribbon (Walmart had cute valentines ribbon for $1, I got some with a cute red stitching down the middle)
Linning (I just bought a fat quarter, Worked perfect!)
Interfacing (which I had and didn't need to buy)
Velcro
Totaled $5.81

1. I cut my pattern pieces:
 1. Bag (fabric)
     30 in. x 14 in.
 2. Strap (fabric, interfacing)
     3 in. x 33 in.
 3. Bottom (fabric, linning, interfacing)
     6.5 in.
 4. Pocket Top (fabric, linning, interfacing)
     8 in. x 3 in.
 5. Pocket Bottom (fabric, linning, interfacing)
     8 in. x 7 in.

2. Iron interfacing onto pieces 2, 3, 4, and 5.
3. Sew the strap into a tube and turn right side out
4. Sew top and bottom pocket and turn right side out, add velcro (I had two squares on each corner)
5. Sew bottom and turn right side out
6. Sew pocket onto bag
7. Sew bag into a tube and sew bottom on
8. Fold over the top of the bag twice to make a 1 in. pocket and insert the ribbon for a drawstring

and done!

So easy! I love it, and the pocket holds my cell phone (I used Danny's in the picture, but its too big) my ID, and my keys! All I need for class!

Christmas in Utah!

Danny and I got to spend Christmas back home in Utah, which was so much fun! A LONG drive, but very fun! 12 hours each way, and the drive home was filled with snow. Not so fun!

We went to Tiffany s and the security guard gave me a Tiffany blue candy cane!

My gift for the family auction!

I couponed these shoes for my mom and dad to give me for Christmas!

My mom gave us this pasta maker that was once my grandma's! I love it!!

I went downtown with my sister and her family to see the lights on Temple Square! So pretty and cold!
Daniel downtown at the lights
Zupas with my mom. So yummy!
Danny and I went on a date to nicklecade. We won over 500 tickets. Danny chose a huge hammer for his prize!

Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Finals, and Christmas Time!

This is the turkey I made for the first time! So yummy, and not as hard as I thought it would be!! I also tried this recipe that was for Crockpot Mashed Potatoes, but it was no good. It said just to put the potatoes on high for 2-3 hours and then mash them. They were very gluey, and didn't taste as great as I had hoped!
It was just Danny and I for Thanksgiving, and we were planning to go Black Friday shopping. We were going to go to Walmart, but thankfully I was able to get that deal online! A thanksgiving miracle (;
We went at 1 am to the Base Exchange. Danny was hoping for a 70 inch TV, but they only had 2! So he settled for a 50 inch, which I think is plenty big!
It was much calmer than any other big retailer, or so I thought until I made it over to the purses.. Women are crazy!

This past week was Finals week, and it wasn't as bad as I thought! I was prepared enough for my tests that I didn't worry too much, and one was open book, so that helped! (;
I was supposed to take my Intro to Computer Systems test on Friday, but when I arrived at the testing center they told me the teacher had closed the test! I was freaking out, and my teacher had already left campus so all I could do was email him and go home and freak out some more. The next day he emailed me back, and told me he would open the test for an hour on Monday morning for me to take. He told me he knew how hard I had worked in this class (It was not an easy class!), and he didn't want a misunderstanding to affect my grade. I'm definitely thankful for good teachers!

Danny and I are going home for Christmas, so he didn't want to get a tree. I did, so I scored one for free on the yard sale site! It's only 3 feet tall, but I love it!
I bought the ornaments at the dollar store, and the picture is actually a t-shirt box, so this tree only cost me $3!
The countdown sign is my favorite decoration! I got it at 2 Shabby Divas on Main St. here in Clovis! I recommend visiting them, they have very cute clothes, fun jewelry, and cute, vintage furniture! My favorite part was the dressing rooms. One of them had vintage pattern pieces pasted on the wall. It was adorable!
They also have yummy smelling candles and wax melts, and they're cheaper than Scentsy or Bath and Body Works, and they smell amazing! (:

*This post is dedicated to my beautiful mother, who checks my blog every night even when I forget to post! (;

Aliens and Asian Food

Danny and I took a little day trip to visit our alien friends today!
Only awkward smiles allowed!!
The museum is pretty cool, but short. A lot of drawing and newspaper articles. We got to make an alien penny, so that was pretty cool!

We went to the mall and little shops around Roswell, they are pretty cool! We even got to go to an indoor farmers market!

Danny was craving Pho, but apparently Roswell only has one Asian restaurant, and it was closed. Poor boy...

We went to Zen Asian Diner instead. It was very good!
He doesn't wait for me to take pictures... ever!
I had Terriyaki Beef, and Danny had Beef and Broccoli. Yum!
Can't forget!

I made this yummy french bread this week!

Beauty Influenster Picks!

My influenster box came with 3 beauty goodies: Softlips, Sinful Colors, and some Kiss Eyelashes. I haven't had a chance to try out the eyelashes. I'm saving those for something fun! Here are my reviews on the other goodies for the time being!
First,
Sinful Colors in 1530 No Text Red
This photo was taken less than 24 hours after I painted them. The bottoms had already begun to chip off, sadly! It is a very bright color. The photo makes it look darker than it actually is, this color is a BRIGHT RED! I love the color, just wish it wouldn't chip as fast!

Softlips Cube in Vanilla Bean

This thing is pretty cool! It's like an EOS chapstick. The only issues I had was the flavor is a little odd. It's not exactly vanilla! The lid does slip off if you toss it in your purse with a jumbled mess (like mine is!), but it's fine if in a makeup bag or pocket. It goes on smoothly, and gives proper hydration. It also has a methanol feel, like Burts Bees! I couldn't decide if I like or hate it, it's really a middle product! Although, from reading the reviews on Influenster it sounds like the Blueberry Pomegranate flavor is better!
